May 2007 / Bott Radio Network Promotes Back to the Bible Outreach to the Latin American World
Back to The Bible’s International Ministry has been a voice to the people of Latin America for over thirty-five years now. The ministry is known as La Biblia Dice (“The Bible Says”) and is based in Quito, Ecuador. Currently the ministry is raising support to reach out to the Quichua people of Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru.
The Quichuas represent the largest American Indian group in the world, comprising a population of around 2.5 million. Quichua tribes migrated along the ridges and valleys of the Andes Mountains and east into the rainforest of the Amazon Basin and have created their own distinct mountain-jungle Quichua identity and culture. Their Aymara-Quechuan group of languages is collectively the most widely spoken of all indigenous languages in South America.
According to Patrick Johnstone in his book "Operation World", there are some areas where the Quichua population is between 45% and 50% evangelical due to a miraculous impact of the Gospel. La Biblia Dice (Back to the Bible’s Latin American radio outreach) is working to develop and manage a follow-up strategy to this people group to help provide opportunities to effectively disciple new converts and assist the local church in its growth.
La Biblia Dice (“The Bible Says”) began ministering in 1970 with a mission is “to teach God’s Word with clarity, creativity and conviction to everyone whose mother tongue is Spanish – in Latin America and North America alike.” Under David Logacho’s leadership La Biblia Dice radio broadcasts reach many Latin American countries, as well as some in Europe and even as far as Africa. La Biblia Dice produces five programs in Spanish, including one for Women called “Always Friends,” plus a weekly feature for children called, “Words of Love,” and a daily 3-minute program called, “Reflections for the Soul” which is directed towards un-believers. The website is www.labibliadice.org.
Bott Radio Network was privileged to have David Logacho share about La Biblia Dice’s outreach to the Quichua people in Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru during a recent visit to our studio/offices in Lincoln, Nebraska.
