May 2008 / Bott Radio Network Co-Sponsors The Nebraska State Capitol National Day Of Prayer Observance, Thursday, May 1st

The nation observed the 57th Annual National Day of Prayer established by joint resolution of Congress in 1952. This year’s theme “Prayer! America’s Strength and Shield” reflected the words of Psalm 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.” Over fifty observances took place in thirty-five Nebraska communities. In Lincoln, Bott Radio Network co-sponsored the annual prayer observance which took place at the State Capitol Building Rotunda. The National Day of Prayer Proclamation was read by Nebraska State Senator, John Nelson, followed by prayers from area pastors and civic leaders. The specific areas of prayer were: military, government, business, education, media, family and church.
