December 2008 / Bott Radio Network Christmas Luncheon, Thursday, December 18th
The Bott Radio Network Christmas Luncheon was held Thursday, December 18th at the Overland Park Sheraton Hotel. Many friends gathered to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and to fellowship and honor one another. This year Bott Radio Network honored Helen Gray of the Kansas City Star, Bill High of Servant Christian Leadership Foundation and Dr. Le Roy Randolph, Jr., President of Carver Baptist Bible Institute, College & Seminary.
Mr. Bill Federer, host of "The American Minute" heard across Bott Radio Network, was our Special Speaker this year. He spoke on the topic of one of his many books, "There Really is a Santa Claus."
Bott Radio Network President and Founder Dick Bott lets everyone know what a great time they are about to have at the annual Christmas Luncheon. He told everyone to look around at, "Friends you just haven't met yet!"
Trace Thurlby, Bott Radio Network Chief Operating Officer, prays and asks God to bless the meal and events at the Bott Radio Network Christmas Luncheon.
Patti Gabrielse blessed us with song. She sang, "O Holy Night" and "The Lord's Prayer" at the Luncheon.

Dick Bott and LaTonya Boyd, a home school mother of 8, enjoy a light hearted moment before the "Bright Lights" group sings.
"Bright Lights" a Christian Home School girls club, whose purpose is to learn Christian Character, sang at the Luncheon. This group was formed by a home school student and is directed by the home school students themselves.
Dick Bott presents Bill High with the Christian Servant Award, which read, "For Courageous leadership, overcoming adversity and service to others." Bill High is the President/General Counsel of the Servant Christian Community Foundation (SCCF).
Dick Bott presented Dr. Le Roy Randolph, Jr. with the Christian Leader & Educator Award which read, "For Faithfully Preparing Others to Serve. Daniel 12:3" Dr. Randolph is the President of Carver Baptist Bible Institute, College & Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon graduation from Law School, Dr. Randolph entered military service and retired from the Army Reserve as a Colonel. Dr. Randolph is an inspiring example of what it means to be called "A Servant Leader." He has served his country, served his family, served his community and served our Lord by serving His students and faculty at Carver Baptist Bible College & Institute.
Dick Bott presents Helen Gray with the Christian Service Award, which read, "For Faithful Life Long Service to Kansas City and all God's Children." Helen Gray has been the Religion Editor at the Kansas City Star newspaper since 1971 and has devoted herself to reporting on matters of faith and community.
Bill Federer was our special speaker this year. His presentation was a whirlwind ride through History concerning the reality of Santa Claus.
The audience listens attentively while Bill Federer entertains and informs with the real history of Christmas.
Passionate about History, which is His Story, Bill Federer shared about Christmas and the origin of Santa Claus.
