Pepsi Refresh Grant Project

The Love, Chloe Foundation needs your help in receiving a $25,000 grant from Pepsi Refresh to fund their “There’s a Monkey In My Chair” program.

The Love, Chloe Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness of the incidence of childhood cancers and sponsoring the Monkey program which provides kits to children battling cancer. The kits include a large monkey to sit in the child’s chair when he/she can’t be in school, and a backpack to carry notes and mementos back and forth. The small monkey stays home with the child. The book and teacher’s resource guide help explain why the child is not in school and helps students understand what is happening with their friend. A camera, photo album, journal, and other items are included in the kit. These kits are now in 38 states, but there is a waiting list of 25 hospitals requesting them.

This grant would put smiles on the faces of 350 young fighters. The Foundation furnishes these kits free of charge and is supported entirely by fundraisers and donations. Volunteers provide all the manpower for all activities. Voting can be done once each day online at www.refresheverything.com/theresamonkeyinmychair. It can also be done via texting by sending the message “100226” to Pepsi (73774). This can be done once a day in addition to voting online.
